Helpful Tips To Ensure Your Heating Oil Can Be Delivered During Extreme Winter Conditions
- Oil trucks are wider than a regular pickup truck or car and are not 4-wheel drive vehicles. Your driveway must be plowed wide enough to accommodate the size difference and must be sanded or salted to ensure traction.
- There must be a clear and safe pathway for our drivers to access your fill pipes. Be aware that many of your homes require us to park in the street and drag the hoses across your lawn or to the rear of your homes. There must be a path for this entire distance, not just in front of the fill pipe.
- Make sure whomever plows or shovels your driveways and walkways does not pile the snow in front of your fill pipe. These snow banks are extremely difficult to get through, especially once they have frozen.
- Make sure to remove all hanging icicles from your home. Falling snow and ice can be a hazard to your delivery person.
We sincerely appreciate all of customers efforts during these extreme winter conditions!
